About Kathy

As an erotic romance author for over twelve years, Kathy has written in a variety of romance sub-genres from paranormal, contemporary and suspense. She loves to read a variety of books from science fiction and supernatural, to steamy romance and suspense, so it’s not a surprise she enjoys writing in these areas. She’s had an interest in the supernatural from a young age, scooping up books on ghosts, vampires, werewolves, etc. Since she was a teenager, she has studied a number of esoteric or “New Age” areas and took classes in Reiki, Psychic Development, Meditation, Self-Hypnosis, Astral Projection, Crystal Work, and others. As a writer, she has an enthusiastic curiosity about all things strange and unusual, and as a scientist (she’s worked in the medical laboratory field for 25+ years), she must take an empirical view while researching.

She’s a hybrid author–published by traditional publishers and as a self-published author. A number of her titles are out of print, but she’s in the process of revising, re-editing, and reworking those books. Many are getting a huge structural makeover, and she’s anxious to share the ‘new’ books with her readers. Some will become parts of new series along with brand new books, while others will be released as single titles.

Her stories may be dark and edgy at times, contain steamy love scenes and sometimes deal with alternative lifestyles and kink. Fair warning: Her books are very hot and sensual. The sex scenes do not happen behind closed doors. If you don’t like reading those types of books, then you may want to skip them. In her research, she has studied, explored and discovered many aspects of sexuality, desires and fetishes. She strives to show sex in a sex-positive way in her writing. Her books are emotional, filled with heart and love, and always have a satisfying ending.

She’s a New York  Times and USA Today Bestselling author with over 20 published novels, novellas and short stories. She has reached thousands of readers through her articles and interviews in magazines, newspapers and e-zines including the Chicago Tribune, Writer’s Digest, Romantic Times Magazine, USA Today HEA, Florida Weekly, Bustle Magazine, The Examiner, and more. She has appeared on a number of radio shows talking about my books, writing and researching the kinky topics in my books. She has also spoken at national and local conferences, writer’s groups and libraries.

As she collects resources and information, she’ll add them to the READERS AND WRITERS page. If you have any suggestions or topics you’d like to see on this blog, please let her know. Email her: kathykulig(at)rcn(dot)com
